Justalab

JustalabJustalab is not "just" your average web design & web development studio. For starters, they are based in both Paris, France and San Diego, California. Their website is sharp and dynamic. And for just staring out in 2010, their work is fresh, and promising. We'd say they are making a just go of it. Good luck!... More

Look at me Design

Look at me Design - Sara HaraigueLook ma, it's the online portfolio of Sara Haraigue! She's an excellent Parisian abstract print and type designer who has a clean, but experimental style. Illustrating shapes and colors and objects that flow like fabric are her specialties. Primarily her work has been for record sleeves and editorial placements. Minimal, but abstract.... More

U.F.O. | Mathematic

U.F.O. | MathematicMathematic is a French motion design studio based in Paris, which provides post production services and art direction to production houses. In 2006, they launched U.F.O., which is their own production label... This allows them to direct their own work, which as they tell us, has always been the aim of this strong team of designers. So, check out some of the spots they've created, and 'njoy the eclectic work from this talented and funky creative group.... More

More Soup?

More Soup? Did Parisian art director Jerome Leclere know about our infatuation with wood textured sites when he built this portfolio? Probably knot! Yet, we get a woody for wood here, and by a long branch, this realization is one of the best we've seen. Forget the great identity work, illustrations and website designs... He's animated each project to be carved out of the wood grain patina as you click it! So warm and wonderful, we just can't stop rubbing the wood.... More

AxeAnt

AxeAntA growin' garden portfolio for Spring time features some nice drawing, etching, print & webdesign. Although it's a bit tough to manage – viewing and keeping track of your visits in these rows of items – there are a few illustrated gems to be found... You just have to be skilled and patient enough to dig for them. We guess (like Spring itself) it's all about growth, adventure, and change.... More

iLK

iLKiLK is the home of a fantastic graphic designer, graffiti artist, illustrator and freelance art director from Paris, France. He has an outstanding style that translates beautifully from paint (see the newly released La Foret Enchantee) down to print ads (see the fabulous Lacoste print ad), and we really love the detail and color he achieves in his work. Sure – coming from a similar background – we're slightly biased towards such crossover artists, but the proof is in the paints... graffiti artists do it better!... More

Monsieur G

Monsieur GWhen you see most "urban" graphic design, it all seems so similar—as if the style was all copied from one book, designer and street corner. Not so with Monsieur G, who breaks down stereotypes with his illustrative style and a certain unique flair. There's just something a little different about this work that makes it stand out... which is exactly the right recipe for good design.... More

Laurence Duchemin

Laurence DucheminEven though it's wrapped in a very under-designed blog template, this young French "graphiste" presents a very strong print portfolio. The white background and scroll actually lets his work shine forth—it's a powerful mix of modern typography, expressive book covers, cd sleeves, and illustrated type that show a complete command of many different styles of design – from whimsical lettering to classic Bauhaus, and many variations in between.... Cleo Buro

Cleo BuroTrue or False: Art directors are a dime a dozen? Well, definitely FALSE when you see it from where we are sitting. From things printed, to animated to interactive, we were pleasantly surprised to see the wealth of work in this single designers' portfolio. His selected works show a sure command of multiple medias, and the work itself is bold, clean, professional and comes with just the right touch of tongue-in-cheek playfulness to make this one superbly rounded indy designer... err... art directors portfolio. Impressive.... More

His latest portfolio site incarnation is a superb showcase of his illustrative design nature, as it sparkles within a classic layout and brims with brightly colored web projects, identity design and animations.... Hello Hikimori

Hello HikimoriHello indeed. And what a welcome! Hello Hikimori is a tight-knit French design studio focusing on "global new media design". As you might expect, this means mostly web, print and motion design, and includes everything from a luxury cosmetics site to designer t-shirts. For a two person studio, HKI pumps out some really amazing print work. But what really struck us is the inspiring Flash-based design of their portfolio. The site establishes a new paradigm for interaction by mimicking a browser, with a right scroller, yet throws in some really sexy details. It's really fun to play with, very sticky, and we predict that this type of design will be copied by many other companies in the future. Truly novel thinking and interaction that sets the bar higher for all portfolio websites to come.... More
