Scholz&Volkmer

Scholz&VolkmerA German firm that specializes in corporate branding? Say it isn't so! Yes, Scholz&Volkmer specialize in the design, and implementation of promotional and corporate websites, and they do a very good job at it. But, their specialty and drive is currently focused around live user interaction, and how they can integrate it with marketing for their clients. In the category of full-service interactive work S&V is strong in design, quite advanced in development, and very well-considered in execution... and certainly with 85 employees (at the time of this posting), and clients like Mercedez-Benz and Coca-Cola on their roster, who wouldn't want to get immersed in this live experience?... Katja Schweiker

Katja SchweikerJust getting back from vacation, we at DT are proud to punctuate this week with a solid portfolio post — the graphic design work of young Katja Schweiker from Germany shows a sopisticated control of the grid and application of typography. Her work is mainly print-based and her "playground" shows an experimental (rougher) side than the clean portfolio may suggest — the site itself is developed by Kai Heuser of Heuserkampf [external link].... YeahYou'reRight

YeahYou'reRightFrom the lovely city of Hamburg, Germany and available for hire in all fields of digital illustration, editorial design, flash animation and onscreen composition, comes a talented new digital artist and student. We're probably right in assuming Nicholas Arnold is new to the work market, as most of his work is self-promotional, but that doesn't make it any less impressive... actually, it makes it much more impressive! Great collage work, digital illustration and even branding.... More

Die Gestalten Verlag

Die Gestalten Verlag (dgv)You may initially recognize Die Gestalten as the book publishing company behind many of the zeitgeist ("spirit of the times") fine art graphic, art and architecture books published since 1995. But dgv also plays a much larger role in developing and designing; Their new media studio, based in Berlin, offers curation and consultation in art direction... and creates corporate design projects, artwork, packaging and film productions for music CD’s and DVD’s as well as web design. Quite a well-rounded firm with a solid core in multiple digital media—this company is definitely one to watch.... More

Jung und Pfeffer

contactWhether it be communication design, corporate campaigns, film, book design or stamps, Jung and Pfeffer (a small firm of about 10 people and two offices) is one of the top graphic design firms in Bremen and Amsterdam. This well-awarded agency has talent, smarts and great graphic design work under its belt... as they should, since both of the partners are professors of design (Eckhard Jung - visual design at HfG, Karlsruhe, and Florian Pfeffer - communication design at College of Art, Bremen). They delicately and professionally treat each one of their projects as "treasures", and the output shows a rich and refined graphic and contemporary sensibility that looks to the future at every opportunity. Great work.... More

Less Rain

Less RainThe online home of Less Rain is energized by all the rich media you could name. It's a powerhouse of design prototypes, which is especially impressive from such a small company. Less Rain has a particular ethos: "making a few design elements work more intelligently, unusually, and organically." Their portfolio is a rich compendium of web works for clients like Red Bull and Hennessy, but offline works include the world's largest victory monument for the Nike Scorpion Football Event. This firm can do anything. Anything.... More

Thorsten Konrad

Thorsten KonradAs a general rule, we often look at logos to see how good someone is in design, and their photography to see how bad they are. But defying any such convention, here is a digital designer from Germany who makes no area for his identity design, and actually has some really great photos in his photo area! We're sure that means something good... and sure enough, Torres' professional work mostly encompasses web, motion and print design, for which he has been nominated for many awards. Many of his recent projects are now online, and we hope you enjoy this nicely designed web design portfolio.... More
