David Navas

David NavasQuite a powerful talent, David Navas has created a number of intriguing minimalist illustrations and art pieces. But not content with mastering just one medium, his recent work has also covered animation, videos and motion graphics for television channels including MTV, Mun2 and The Locomotion Channel. His illustrations, comics and photographs have been published in the U.S., Mexico and Argentina, and his work has carried him between Europe and the U.S., to where he currently resides in New York City.... Rubens

RubensWith a simple stroke and a minimalist style, Rubens from Brazil demonstrates great technique in his drawings... But his art is more than just technique. In his simple, no-words site, each brand and subject he tackles with his pen relays an interesting message - from depicting a drunk Jesus, to a consumer with an Adidas "habit" - which often makes you look twice. Rubens is a talented illustrator with a twinkle in his eye, a slight smirk, and a double-edged pen.... More

Mutado

MutadoMutado is a renown, but small international firm whose work includes design, animation and interactive work – from brand-supporting print and advertising to online animations, motion design and illustrations. Strong at character work, online systems and games, Mutado's focus is to enable brands to interact with their clients. Which is why, in turn, it's not really a surprise when Mutado's own client list includes the likes of Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon—brands well known for their pioneering use of animation and interaction. Great little site... simple, detail-oriented, and easy to use.... More

Hydro74

Hydro74We like to call him the man of 1,000 type-faces, Hydro74 is a type treatment wizard who can bring the bling to any combination of letters, from A-Z. Mostly freelancing for a number of companies at this point, Hydro's work runs the gambit from magazine photo-illustrations to apparel designs, records sleeves and much, much more. His edgy hand-drawn treatments and graphic stylizations are highly sought after, and can be seen in publications and on clothing around the nation.... More

Ric Stultz

Ric StultzRic is a internationally renown painter and artist whose work buzzes around an abstract sci-fi world where monsters, oddly-shaped space-men and underwater seascapes blend brightly together to form an unique body of imaginative work. His work has been featured on a number of rock album covers and even the MTV website, but mostly you can find his paintings in galleries around the world. Great stuff.... More

Brent Mottley

Brent MottleyBrent is an artist with many different tastes, and a wide range of design talents. Specifically we loved his illustrations, which are obviously the focal point of this portfolio. They are simple, and classic, evoking emotion through their collage-like construction which contrasts beautifully with the solitary simplicity of the subject matter. Moving on, we found that Brent also dabbles in multimedia, photography and even composes his own music. Certainly, Brent is an exemplary student of the arts with a deep interest in nature who has a talent for revealing inner beauty, and capturing the emotion of brief moments in time.... More

Claudio Limon

Claudio LimonIf ever there was a portfolio bursting at the seams with expression, flavor and talent, then this one ranks highly in the category of original creativity. Claudio is a Mexican artist, illustrator, dreamer, and retouching expert whose work runs the entire gambit: from Manga style cartoons drawings, to realistic 3D renderings, whispy dreamword illustrations, and real-world art-based-clothing. Kudos to a true designer and illustrator whose style is expansive and adaptable to any number of projects and artistic expressions.... More

Phil Wheeler Illustrations

Phil Wheeler IllustrationsA sweet but short portfolio of an illustrator who embodies a psychdelic style that borrows some aspects from Milton Glaser and George Dunning's (Yellow Submarine) earlier works—and sort of becomes a homage to the art of the era. Indeed, the work is comprised of a mesh of styles – part pop-art, part modern-retro, and part 60's drippy color rainbows – Phil "Freewheeling" Wheeler definitely puts the 'hip' in hippie when it comes to creating his illustrated pieces. Quite nice work from a UK-based artist.... More

More Than a Friend

More Than a FriendBased out of Montreal, More Than a Friend is a funky painting and illustrating collaboration between artists Krista Bursey and Jason Wasserman. The artists conceive all the ideas together, and then execute different areas of the project. Their mandate is creating experimental artwork that combines both artists’ respective skills and styles and usually revolves around a developed theme and exhibition context. We enjoyed how the pieces have an alternative, or occasionally "dark", feel to them — good conceptual ideas here.... More

Bill McMullen

Bill McMullenWhere popular culture and urban street art meet is where you will find Bill McMullen, a New York design talent who got his start putting together club and show flyers while he was in school in San Diego, California. Here, at his portfolio, you will find an eclectic mix of mashed-up street art, pop culture, apparel and graphic design. Previously designing hip-hop albums at Def Jam's design subsidiary "The Drawing Board" for three years, Bill more recently has been out on his own pursuing other projects like his SwishNYC label and his own art. McMullen's clients include Beastie Boys, Adidas, Criterion Collection and MTV, as well as his own projects like t-shirts, limited edition jewelry, and the vinyl 'Shuttlemax' toy with KidRobot. Of all the "mash-ups," one of our favorites is the shell-top Adidas/AD-AT from Star Wars. Bill is currently (2007) working for Burton and Adidas.... More

Spike Press

Spike PressBehold the posters of John Solimine, a man who takes his illustration not-so seriously. It's true! His rock and gig concert posters are full of fun characters, animals and hand-drawn fonts. We really liked how each poster has a specific focus on illustration, a variety of interesting backgrounds, and an unique graphic identity—a mix of old-time typography and quirky characters blending to create a vintage sensibility.... Jenny Lloyd Illustration

Jenny Lloyd IllustrationThe contemporary illustration portfolio of Jenny Lloyd – from where else but London – shows us some simple and cleanly illustrated shapes and characters. Very polished feminine shiloettes and flat objects with a Japanese stylization define some of the work, although a light dusting of small details gives the compositions a textural richnes and visual appeal. Very nice commercial work spanning from editorial to poster design to children's books.... More
