Kiosk

KioskKiosk is a small print design studio based in Sheffield UK, founded by David Bailey, a former TDR (The Designers Republic) designer. After eight-years working at TDR, and uncovering thousands of interesting ways to use the Helvetica typeface, David went independent in 2005 to form this tight print studio... Basically, in order to find more ways to use Helvetica!... More

kingcosmonaut

kingcosmonautKingcosmonaut is a playground of code and experiments from a young German designer. Nice technical work nestled amidst color backgrounds. For a student, shows a lot of promise. Definitely worth returning to see what fun experiments emerge in the future.... More

Keikei Digital Design

Keikei Digital Design A refined site for a true digital designer, who creates art projects combined with research in the fields of social networks, information mashup, technology and design. Generally, German-based Kalle Kormann conducts a daily search for digital visualisation possibilities in digital environments, network structures, and he investigates ways to mesh up data and squeeze more meaning out of the web. Remember the Edward Tufte visual information books? Well, this is the wunderkid who takes that next step into the online world!... More

Katja Schweiker

Katja SchweikerJust getting back from vacation, we at DT are proud to punctuate this week with a solid portfolio post — the graphic design work of young Katja Schweiker from Germany shows a sopisticated control of the grid and application of typography. Her work is mainly print-based and her "playground" shows an experimental (rougher) side than the clean portfolio may suggest — the site itself is developed by Kai Heuser of Heuserkampf [external link].... Karas

Karas | Mateusz KarasinskiNoticing a trend? We like to call it a "digitalthread". Yes, this is the fifth portfolio we posted today with the same background; black with diagonal grey stripes. But we're not hating on this at all—sure it's not terribly original, but it works. Especially if you have great work inside, as this designer does – it makes it stand out in a dark, sexy and digital way. And for a twenty year old (at this posting) from Poland, he has already worked on designing a number of great websites. Fifth, or sixth, doesn't matter... we're still looking forward to more.... Jonathan Yuen

Jonathan YuenAn impressive portfolio, with an immersive, interactive, illustrated interface, from a Malaysian individual who integrates Far-Eastern and Western design influences. Enough alliterations already? We're just getting warmed up. This splendid designer from Singapore splashes the waters with his subtle brush, which reveals a subdued, but sophisticated style. Don't be shy! Just dive into the deep waters of this dynamic portfolio to discover some very distinctive identity designs.... More

John C. Olsen Portfolio

John C. Olsen PortfolioHere's a young graphic design student hailing from Norway with his new portfolio. John presents us with a very classic and usable web design that showcases his rather small, but professional scope of design work, from posters to identity design, photography and a couple web projects. But as a student, it's not the quantity but the quality, and ultimately, his understanding of typography, color and navigation that makes this design portfolio work exceptionally well. Young students, look and learn!... More

Ivan Pashenko

Ivan PashenkoThe excellent portfolio of Ivan Pashenko, a young art director with seven years of successful experience in visual branding and interactive design. We loved his unique take on the one-page scrolling portfolio – it's a simple and very effective solution. But we are especially impressed with his logo and identity design work. Check out the Mister Wong identity... it's a killer... in a room full of capital offenders! Great.... More

Hello Hikimori

Hello HikimoriHello indeed. And what a welcome! Hello Hikimori is a tight-knit French design studio focusing on "global new media design". As you might expect, this means mostly web, print and motion design, and includes everything from a luxury cosmetics site to designer t-shirts. For a two person studio, HKI pumps out some really amazing print work. But what really struck us is the inspiring Flash-based design of their portfolio. The site establishes a new paradigm for interaction by mimicking a browser, with a right scroller, yet throws in some really sexy details. It's really fun to play with, very sticky, and we predict that this type of design will be copied by many other companies in the future. Truly novel thinking and interaction that sets the bar higher for all portfolio websites to come.... More
