ModernistaInstead of building out actual web pages, Modernista skipped right to the web results by building "hot links" directly to google, flikr portfolios, wikipedia descriptions, and facebook pages (no myspace or friendster - they really are forward thinking!). Yes, Modernista! has done the unthinkable for a web firm, although in a way, it's a logical progression for an agency showing they "get" online media and web 2.0. The only drawback to this approach is that these pages, which are maintained on other sites, and are subject to breaking down.... More

Their site design uses a sparkling blue and flowing water motif to bring home the point that their marketing efforts are lucid and adaptable to many business solutions. Jivaldi serves a variety of clients but is recently flowing into marketing for sports and politics. A nice site which emphasizes the best parts of the products that this firm delivers.... More

AttikAttik is a top notch full-service design company based in San Francisco with a great looking site, and a strong independent background (they are the designers behind all the famed NoiseLab books). Their current brand image is build around being "brand engineers", which we suppose could mean that they construct their branding work using a very technical, scientific, and methodical approach. But does that mean that they squeeze all of the emotion out of their work? Au contraire! It means they're developed the best methods to squeeze all the emotion and impact to the front of their work.... More

A bit light on projects (at this moment), this boutique-style firm is already launching off on the right foot with some pretty big clients. Quality, not quantity, defines their work... and the rich portfolio detail reveals a source of talent beneath the calm exterior—fangohr is best compared to the rumbling power of New York's underground subways.... Red Interactive AgencyRed Interactive Agency is an agency with a singular focus... to push the interactive technology of today to its limits to craft the most immersive experiences possible for their clients. For now, what this philosophy boils down to is heavily awarded visual advertising campaigns and marketing sites for several clients in the entertainment industry. But if their projects weren't proof enough, this company with two offices (Studio City, CA and Salt Lake, UT) in the USA, has transformed their portfolio site into a showcase for some of their abilities — it's a living chat room with customizable avatars that can run, punch and fly through a small virtual world with other users. Pretty neat suff... practically useless, yes... but a fine demonstration of what this firm can do, and ultimately a solid calling card.... More

That's what you'll get from Duffy and Partners, a well established and awarded branding firm whose recent work has included rebranding the Islands of Bahamas, as well as identities for Toyota Trucks, and new packaging for Fresca. Clients know what to expect when coming here, but in out opinion, some the styles and designs in the portfolio have a slighty dated feel—like an ad agency that was huge in the 90's but still hasn't fully lost its tendency towards using quirky character illustrations of the era....
