Revamped and refreshed, the new Stella McCartney site invites users to explore this already iconic, yet always fun and flirty brand. Dynamic content landing pages, user-controlled runway videos, and a new Stella’s World section with behind the scenes Stella flicks complete this site redesign. We liked how the staggered grid design in a minimal, peach-toned setting creates a pleasing, "sticky" site. Plus, there are some nice contemporary typographic choices. Fully-transactional online boutique coming in 2008.... More
Luis Blanco and Michael Uman two wild and funny guys! They are the warped brains behind the award-winning design and concept studio INTERspectacular. Mostly focusing on character development, and motion branding, they are the creative force behind Comedy Central's recent network identity redesignin which they introduced edgy MTV-esque interstitials and station IDs. Meaning, they basically get to cut loose and design the craziest stuff they can imagine. Today, they are creating print and broadcast projects for some of the world's most engaging brands, from Volvo to Virgin Mobile.... More
This three person photo production company located in Spain has a great minimal site with nice blocked out type and very simple functionality. It's a great way to peruse the work of these three artists and lends itself well to the overall cohesion of the site. Overall, the site bridges the gap between styles, and brings the fashion and advertising works which already have a certain raw and edgy similarity even closer together.... More
Quite a powerful talent, David Navas has created a number of intriguing minimalist illustrations and art pieces. But not content with mastering just one medium, his recent work has also covered animation, videos and motion graphics for television channels including MTV, Mun2 and The Locomotion Channel. His illustrations, comics and photographs have been published in the U.S., Mexico and Argentina, and his work has carried him between Europe and the U.S., to where he currently resides in New York City.... Instead of building out actual web pages, Modernista skipped right to the web results by building "hot links" directly to google, flikr portfolios, wikipedia descriptions, and facebook pages (no myspace or friendster - they really are forward thinking!). Yes, Modernista! has done the unthinkable for a web firm, although in a way, it's a logical progression for an agency showing they "get" online media and web 2.0. The only drawback to this approach is that these pages, which are maintained on other sites, and are subject to breaking down.... More
With a simple stroke and a minimalist style, Rubens from Brazil demonstrates great technique in his drawings... But his art is more than just technique. In his simple, no-words site, each brand and subject he tackles with his pen relays an interesting message - from depicting a drunk Jesus, to a consumer with an Adidas "habit" - which often makes you look twice. Rubens is a talented illustrator with a twinkle in his eye, a slight smirk, and a double-edged pen.... More

A very simple and beautiful site with few gimmicks or "flashiness" for this anticipated third film from Julian Schnabel (Basquiat, Before Night Falls). It just maintains an overall cohesion of colors and treatments type included that gel nicely together. We also really liked the blurry, "bleed-to-white" spot-transitions between sections. Very nice.... More
Contrary to initial impressions, IOWA is actually located in the heart of sea-side California, near Marina Del Rey. They specialize in identity design, DVD/CD-Roms and they seem especially proficient in creating clean, uncluttered web site designs for their clients... usually in Flash... and usually for the advertising agencies, marketing firms and audio designers who are too busy making their own magic to bother with making their own web sites... And who would bother anyway, when you have these pros on your team?... More
