Morimoto Restaurant

Morimoto Restaurant NYCAn exceptional restaurant and celebrity chef (Starr Restaurants) deserves a modern Flash site with sharp transitions, perfect execution and appetizing presentation. The "flavor profiles" of this design tantalize the user to explore the aesthetic and gastronomic qualities of the restaurant in this full-screen Flash presentation. Check out the menu and tour sections where tasty transitions make it feel like the site is being diced and sliced for your dining pleasure.... More

Motorazr Dolce & Gabbana

Motorazr Dolce & GabbanaA pure promotional showcase, this site presents the new Dolce & Gabbana co-branded Motorola Razor V3i phone. Done up in a kind of gilded-orange tone with DG logos, the phone also comes with a few similarly tricked-out gold accessories. Overall, the site is fairly straight-forward - obviously geared to the youth market - and although you can't stop the background music, it has a certain flair that complements the design of the phone. Written in Italian and created for the Italian market.... More

MTV

MtvThe web face for MTV in 1997. Great design combined with JavaScript activity made the site feel like a rich media CD-rom. There even was a 'caffinated' version if you could handle the wait - which at that time helped bring down the site for good. As visually rich as the TV interstitials, you could find a wealth of original designs and gimmicks all across the entire site. This site still needs changes. Originally the design was so graphically heavy that MTV was forced to create a lighter redesign as early as late 1997. Since then the design has been hovering in a political identity purgatory. With so many various interests and off-shoots, it's no wonder the MTV site is such a hard beast to tame. We still look forward to any new developments and hope to see a great redesign resolution occur, but we're not holding our breath. See... More

Nestea Ice

Nestea IceFeaturing funny animated clip-art, flourishes and purely mystical landscapes, the immersive Nestea Ice site comes off as a funky cross falling somewhere between Monthy Python and an animated version of the North Pole on Zoloft. Currently hosted live only on Juxt's site, this fantasy world of Nestea Ice hopefully lives on—it's a perfect case-study of a dream design for any illustration and interactive Flash animation team.... Novalux

NovaluxNovalux creates something called NECSEL, a unique laser technology that is slated to be the future of projection displays. And in this modern-looking site, we are presented with very clear demonstration of this revolutionary product and it's benefits - while also getting a company breakdown for those interested in the people behind the technology. It's a wonderfully spacious site that conveys both the product, message and insider information all in one branded package. From the typography, to the layout and through all the custom 3D motion demonstrations, each element of the site is top-notch and attractively built.... More

Outsource Corporation

Outsource CorporationWith small-town theme music pumping an atmosphere of serenity through your headphones, the Outsource Corporation uses basic Sim-like icon illustrations to seal their sophisticated outsourcing services. The animated rep attempts to sell the service, but untimely quips about premature baldness and other random facts distract from an already complicated plan. Nevertheless, Outsource offers an amusing effort for a pedestrian service proposal.... More

Philips Dynamic Lighting

Philips Dynamic LightingHere's an interesting site (we missed) that launched back in 2005... Remote controlled, dynamic lighting—an advanced lighting solution that brings the rythmic fluctuations of daylight into the working environment. Dynamic Lighting is something you install into your home or office that alternates between blends of cool and warm light to create a stimulating (or soothing) ambience, based upon the time of day, or your own preferences. It's a really interesting technology, and this clean, sky-tones-on-white website has all the right demos and diagrams to communicate the concept with the utmost clarity.... More

Playb3yond

Playb3yondIt's not often when the future of a major music and entertainment company like Sony rests on the release of a single product. So when you debut two new technologies in one gaming system and sell it for a $400 loss in hopes of making billions down the road... Yup! Sounds like the perfect reason to blow even more money on an extravagant, animated web advertisement - complete with Captain Kirk voice overs! Sadly, at the end of 15 minutes, the site is ultimately an expensive, 3-D marketing brochure with lots of glitz and no interactive substance (somehow, Shatner specialties). However, it also makes us salivate for the very latest in high-definition gaming and graphics. Sony is drawing deep into its brand loyalty cachet and they are betting it all on this console's success. It shows in this high-end video production, but where's the web2.0 love?... More

Renamo

RenamoRenamo is a tight and tidy little site for a UK marketing company. The firm was recently re-branded with a military theme and this site extends that brand online. The typography is well thought out (although it could be a little more readable) and the individual design concepts - using field reports and a topographic map navigation - all work together to reflect a style of "street-level" marketing.... Rexona | Action City

Rexona | Action CityAlthough we've all seen 3D immersive sites before, some of the newest breed take it to an uncommonly high level of detail. Take for example the Rexona (also know as Degree deodorant in the U.S.) "Action City" site, which takes its cue from a very popular stunt man TV commercial produced in 2006. It has 3D graphics rivaling next-generation video games, but due to the medium, contains only 1% of the actual full-environmental funtionality—which truthfully, given the medium, is quite an accomplishment. That being said, don't miss the mini-game and the many little hidden clickables. Overall, an A+ for gratuitous graphics.... More

Rusta Media

Rusta MediaIn order to sell airtime on SABC channels leading up to the Cricket World Cup Show, media planners are shown the shocking media options they'll get stuck with if they don't book with the SABC. In this brilliant illustrated collage design of a non-existent Caribbean media company's website, media buyers explore the dodgiest media solutions ever, reinforcing the need to book with the national broadcaster before they run out of options. Touting everything from branded coconuts, bongs, to spray-painted goats and fishing boat billboards (locations cannot be confirmed)—the results of this hilarious campaign exceeded sales target by over 250% – with 40% more hits than targeted on launch day and an average of over 1400 hits per month (from a maximum pool of only 750 media planners). Outstanding, functional, funny and also a beautifully illustrated collage design. And don't forget to check the Terms & Conditions.... More
