Image Ready Animation Actions
Action demonstrations for rapidly creating animations from inside Image Ready.



Loading Image Ready Actions
All actions you create are saved in the ImageReady Actions file in the Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings folder. ImageReady can only access actions that reside in this folder. You add actions to ImageReady by dragging actions into the ImageReady Actions folder on your computer.

Because ImageReady does not include a Load Actions command, you must add files to the ImageReady Actions file manually.

Note: The default location of the Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings folder varies by operating system. Use your operating system's Find command to locate this folder. (For Mac, this will probably be in your System Folder > Preferences > Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings. For PC, copy actions to C:\Windows\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\6.0\Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings\ImageReady Actions\ ).

To update the Actions folder:
1. Drag an action file into or out of the ImageReady Actions folder.
2. Choose Rescan Actions Folder from the Actions palette menu.





IMAGE READY ACTION PACK

The ImageReady Action Pack contains four ImageReady actions (ISA files) that add more control to ImageReady's Make Frames From Layers command (in the Animation palette menu) which acts only on the entire animation using all layers.

Duplicate Frame Advance
Duplicate Frame Advance mimics the behaviour of Make Frames From Layers, but only on one frame at a time. This action duplicates the current selected & visible frame into the animation > turns it off > then it advances to the next layer and turns it on. Repeat the action to add as many frames as you require. One touch animation building!

Activate Frame Advance
Activate Frame Advance is the same as Duplicate Frame Advance (above), except that no new frames are added to the current animation. This action simply turns on the current layer for the active frame, and then advances to the next frame. Repeat the action to turn on a sequence of layers over a range of frames.

Match Across Selection (IR2)
Match Across Selection (short for Match Layer Across Selection) matches the current layer across the selected frames (only). Note: The Match Across Selection action works in the same fashion as the Match Layer Across Frames command in that it affects the layer position, style(s), opacity, visibility, and blending mode (across the selected frames).

Note: This action is intended for ImageReady 2. For ImageReady 3, the optimized version (IR3) included in the Action Pack (see the description below).

Match Across Selection (IR3)
Match Across Selection (short for Match Layer Across Selection) matches the current layer across the selected frames (only) - a feature which I was hoping would be implemented in ImageReady 3 (sigh)! Note: The Match Across Selection action works in the same fashion as the Match Layer Across Frames command in that it affects the layer position, style(s), opacity, visibility, and blending mode (across the selected frames). INSTALLATION
1. Download the ImageReady Action Pack
2. Assuming a default installation (on a PC), unzip the actions into: C:\Windows\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop\6.0\Adobe Photoshop 6 Settings\ImageReady Actions\. (For Mac use Stuffit Expander and see hot tips above at left.)
3. To load the actions:
a. If ImageReady is already open, choose Rescan Actions Folder from the Action palette menu ( ), or
b. Simply load ImageReady and the actions will be loaded automatically
